The girl stood in the dark again, the same empty black space around her. She kept her eyes closed, listening to the water drip from above. The waves from the last time washed against her, the same as the last time. Again, she turned around to look at whoever was behind her. An outline of a person was all she saw before she fell back again. The fall seemed to be longer this time, the blackness clinging to like it wanted her to stay. But, just as before, the ground came up underneath her, and the pain shot through her head.
The girl sat up again, panting softly, sweat running down her face. She looked around quickly, spotting Temari standing next to her.
“You alright?†The older girl asked.
“Yes, I’m fine, thank you,†the girl replied.
“Good. Now, get dressed. We’re going.â€
“Going where?â€
Temari smiled. “Gaara, Kankuro and I have volunteered to take you in. You can’t stay here in the hospital forever.â€
The girl brightened. “Thank you so much. I would love to!â€
“Also, we decided on a name for you, until you remember you real one. It’s Kira.â€
“Kira…†the girl mumbled, letting her new name slide off her tongue, “I love it.â€
“Alright, get dressed and we’ll go,†Temari said, walking to the door.
Kira quickly got dressed and ran after Temari. They entered the streets, sand covering every inch of the ground for as far as you could see. Halfway there, Temari looked over at Kira.
“Something wrong?†she asked the younger girl.
“Um, no...†Kira said, “Actually, yes. Why is everyone staring at me?â€
“Don’t worry about that. People don’t know you, so they’ll be a little bit afraid of you, but once they see you enough, they’ll soften up.â€
Soon after, they reached a building, tall and brown, like all the other buildings in the village.
“Here we go. Come on,†Temari said, unlocking the door.
Kira walked into the biggest doorway in probably the whole world. The walls were white and it led into a large room with a sofa and some soft chairs.
“Wow….†Kira whispered, looking around.
Temari had already walked into another room. “You’re room is upstairs. The door is open. The only think is you can’t go into Gaara’s room.â€
Kira walked up the stairs into the open room at the top. It looked like that downstairs, with the same while walls. There was a bed in the corner next to the windows and a small table across the room. She walked over to the bed and sat down, lying her head down on the pillow. Sleep overtook her, and she curled up on the bed.
